Description
A small to medium-sized cowrie shell, characterized by its ovate, glossy form. The dorsal surface is typically reddish-brown to orange-brown, adorned with numerous distinct, pale (often white or yellowish) circular spots or ocelli, giving it a 'sieve-like' or 'cribrate' appearance. The margins and base are white or cream-colored. The aperture is narrow, lined with fine, white teeth on both the columellar and labial sides. The shell is smooth and highly polished.
