Description
Cymbiola moretonensis, commonly known as the Moreton Bay Volute, is a large, predatory sea snail. Its shell is typically robust, ovate to fusiform, and often highly prized by collectors for its striking patterns and glossy surface. The image provided shows several broken and eroded shells on sand, none of which are clearly identifiable as a complete or characteristic specimen of Cymbiola moretonensis. The most prominent shell fragment is a broken, reddish-orange gastropod or bivalve piece, while another shell to the left is a broken, ribbed gastropod, and a smaller, intact gastropod is visible to the right.
