Description
A living specimen of Doxander operosus, a medium-sized sea snail, is captured on a dark, decaying leaf on a sandy or muddy substrate. The animal is partially extended from its elongated, fusiform shell, revealing its head with prominent eye stalks and its foot with a visible claw-shaped operculum. The shell exhibits a tall, conical spire with numerous whorls, characterized by fine axial ribs and spiral grooves. Its coloration is predominantly light brown to cream, with subtle darker brown axial streaks or blotches, particularly on the upper whorls.
