Description

A bivalve shell, ovate to subtrigonal in shape, with a moderately inflated profile. The exterior surface is smooth but marked with distinct, regular concentric growth lines. The color is predominantly purplish-pink to reddish-brown, often with lighter, sometimes whitish, concentric bands reflecting growth stages. The two valves are articulated at the hinge, and the umbones are slightly anterior.
