Description

A single valve of a bivalve shell, likely *Dosinia histrio*. The shell is orbicular (circular in outline) and compressed, displaying a white to cream background color. It is adorned with striking, irregular reddish-orange to light brown blotches and broken radial patterns, particularly prominent on the posterior and central parts of the shell. The surface is sculptured with numerous fine, regular, concentric growth lines. The umbo is slightly anterior, and the overall appearance is characteristic of the species.
