Description
The Kelp Limpet is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc, characterized by its low, cap-shaped shell. It is an obligate associate of kelp, typically found firmly attached to the stipes (stems) and blades of large brown algae, such as Macrocystis and Nereocystis. The shell often blends with its kelp habitat, appearing mottled and somewhat eroded.
