Description

The Labiate Stromb is a medium-sized, solid marine gastropod shell characterized by its conical spire and a broad, somewhat inflated body whorl. A prominent feature is its flared outer lip, which often has a distinct stromboid notch near the anterior end. The aperture is elongated and narrow, revealing a striking orange to reddish-orange interior. The shell's exterior is typically cream or light beige, adorned with irregular patterns of darker brown, reddish-brown, or purplish-brown blotches and axial streaks, giving it a mottled or checkered appearance. The surface is generally smooth but may exhibit fine spiral grooves and axial growth lines.
