Description

A small to medium-sized marine predatory snail, characterized by its robust, fusiform shell. The shell exhibits prominent, often frilly or lamellar axial ribs that are crossed by spiral cords, creating a textured, sometimes nodulose surface. The specimen in the image is heavily encrusted with green filamentous algae, which provides camouflage within its natural habitat of mixed rocky and sandy substrate with various marine flora.
