Description

A species of cowrie shell, characterized by its smooth, glossy, ovate form. The dorsal surface displays a pale orange-brown or tan background with distinct, lighter, somewhat translucent transverse bands that intersect with fainter longitudinal bands, creating a subtle grid-like or checkered pattern. The margins are slightly thickened and often show fine striations or pustules, particularly visible on the lower side. The base is off-white to cream. The aperture is narrow, with prominent, finely ridged teeth that are a distinct purplish-pink color. The ends are slightly produced.
