Description

A single valve of a Mesopeplum fenestratum, commonly known as the New Zealand Scallop. The shell is fan-shaped, off-white to cream in color, and characterized by prominent, rounded radial ribs. The hinge area shows a slight brownish tint. This species is endemic to New Zealand waters.
