Description
A bivalve mollusc shell, typically oval to subtrigonal in shape, with distinct and regular concentric growth lines. The exterior surface is relatively smooth between the growth lines. The shell is equivalve (both valves are of equal size and shape) and inequilateral (the beaks are not centrally located). The specimen in the image shows a light tan to brownish coloration with visible growth rings and some adhering sand/mud, consistent with its habitat.
