Description

Four specimens of Natica multipunctata, commonly known as the Many-spotted Moon Snail. These shells are globose to subglobose, characterized by a low spire and a large, inflated body whorl. Their surface is smooth and glossy, displaying a distinctive pattern of numerous dark brown to reddish-brown spots and blotches on a lighter, cream to whitish background. The spots vary in size and density, sometimes forming irregular spiral bands or larger confluent patches. The overall appearance is highly characteristic of the species.
