Identifying FeaturesCharacterized by its oval to trigonal-oval shape, prominent and often somewhat raised concentric growth lines (lamellae) that create a 'grooved' or 'carpet-like' texture. The hinge structure (not visible in this single valve) and pallial sinus are also key for definitive identification.

Description
A single valve of a bivalve shell, likely a Grooved Carpet Shell. The shell is oval to trigonal-oval in shape, with prominent concentric growth lines that give it a textured appearance. The surface appears somewhat worn, revealing layers of shell material. The color is predominantly off-white to light grey, with distinct bands and patches of pale blue or purplish-blue, particularly along the growth lines and towards the ventral margin.
