Description

A robust, medium to large-sized marine gastropod shell, partially embedded in a muddy or sandy substrate. The shell exhibits a turbinate to ovate-conical shape with a relatively low spire and a large body whorl. Its surface is characterized by prominent axial ribs and spiral cords, which can form nodules or blunt spines, particularly on the shoulder. The aperture is wide and ovate, revealing a distinctive pattern of dark, vertical stripes or streaks on the inner lip against a lighter, often whitish or pale cream background. The exterior color is typically a dull reddish-brown to dark brown, often obscured by sediment or marine growth.
