Description

A single valve of a marine bivalve, Retrotapes lenticularis, displaying a somewhat flattened, oval to sub-circular shape. The shell exhibits prominent concentric growth lines and a dull, grayish-white to pale brown coloration, with some areas of darker gray/brown and a yellowish-brown band along the margin. Parts of the periostracum appear to be peeling.
