Description

A bivalve mollusk characterized by its elongated, somewhat compressed, and equivalve shell. The exterior displays a striking pattern of reddish-brown to purplish-brown radial streaks or bands on a white or cream background, often more concentrated towards the anterior and posterior margins. Fine concentric growth lines are visible across the shell surface. The interior of the shell is often purplish, particularly near the hinge area.
