Description
Timoclea micra is a small bivalve mollusk, commonly known as a Venus clam. The shells are typically ovate to subtrigonal in shape, moderately convex, and feature a distinctive sculpture of numerous fine radial ribs crossed by concentric growth lines, giving them a somewhat cancellate appearance, though radial ribs are usually more prominent. The shells are generally whitish to pale cream or light brown, often with subtle concentric banding or blotches. They are found in sandy or muddy substrates in marine environments.
