Description

The image displays several small, bivalve shells of Timoclea mindanensis resting on a sandy substrate. The shells are equivalve, subtrigonal to ovate in shape, and exhibit a distinct sculpture of prominent concentric ribs intersected by finer radial ribs, creating a cancellate or cross-hatched pattern. Their coloration is generally whitish to pale cream or light brown, often with irregular, broken concentric bands or blotches of darker brown or purplish-brown. The shells appear to be intact and well-preserved, suggesting they are either recently deceased specimens or living individuals partially buried in the sand.
