Description
A medium-sized, robust marine gastropod shell, commonly known as the Radiate Turban. It features a turbinate (top-shaped) form with a low spire and a large body whorl. The shell is characterized by strong axial ribs and often prominent nodules or spines on the shoulder of the whorls. Its distinctive coloration includes a pale background with striking reddish-brown to purplish-brown radiating stripes or flammules. This species is a herbivore, grazing on algae in intertidal and shallow subtidal rocky and reef environments across the Indo-Pacific.
