Description
The image displays two views (exterior and interior) of two valves of a large scallop shell. The shells are distinctly fan-shaped, characterized by prominent, rounded radial ribs that extend from the umbo to the shell margin. The exterior of one valve shows a reddish-brown to orange coloration, while the other is lighter, appearing cream to off-white, with some subtle reddish-orange hues. The interior surfaces of both valves are predominantly white or cream. The shells feature distinct, unequal auricles (ears) on either side of the umbo.
