The shell is characterized by its fusiform shape, prominent axial ribs, and spiral cords, giving it a cancellate or latticed appearance. The color is variable, often showing shades of white, grey, or pale green with darker brown or purplish banding or mottling. It is typically found in intertidal and shallow subtidal rocky environments.
