Description
A robust, medium-sized marine predatory snail, characterized by its strongly sculptured shell. The shell features prominent axial ribs and spiral cords, which often form tubercles, giving it a 'carinate' or keeled appearance, particularly on the shoulder. The aperture is ovate with a denticulate outer lip, and the siphonal canal is relatively short. The specimen in the image is shown alongside a string of its characteristic egg capsules, indicating it is actively reproducing or has recently laid eggs.
