Description
A robust, turbinate seashell belonging to the family Turbinidae. It is characterized by its solid structure, moderately elevated spire, and prominent spiral cords that can sometimes appear nodulose. The shell typically exhibits a brownish background color, often mottled or streaked with white, cream, or lighter brown patches, particularly on the raised sculptural elements. While its common name suggests a channeled suture, this feature can vary in prominence and may be less obvious in worn specimens. The aperture is large and rounded, and the operculum is thick and calcareous.
