Description
A small to medium-sized abalone shell, characterized by its flattened, oval shape and low spire. The exterior surface displays distinctive reddish-brown to dark red radial stripes or rays on a lighter, often cream, pale yellow, or greenish-tan background. It possesses a series of open respiratory pores (tremata) along the left margin, typically 5-7 in number. The shell surface may exhibit fine growth lines and some irregular sculpture. The interior is highly iridescent.
