Description

A bivalve seashell, specifically a Venus clam, characterized by its prominent, elevated, and frilly concentric ridges (lamellae) that give it a distinctive textured appearance. The shell is ovate to subtrigonal in shape, moderately inflated, and typically exhibits a creamy white to light tan coloration, often with darker growth lines or bands. The umbones are pointed and slightly prosogyrate. This specimen clearly shows the characteristic lamellar sculpture.
