Description
A univalve gastropod shell, distinctly ear-shaped and relatively flattened, with a low, somewhat sunken spire. Its exterior surface is sculptured with prominent, irregular concentric growth lines and often exhibits a mottled coloration of greenish-brown, iridescent blue, purple, and darker brown or black patches. A series of small, raised respiratory pores (tremata) are visible along the shell's margin. The overall shape is more rounded or 'circular' compared to some other abalone species.
