Description

Diodora galeata is a species of keyhole limpet, a marine gastropod mollusc belonging to the family Fissurellidae. Its shell is characterized by a low, conical, cap-like shape with a distinctive apical opening (keyhole). The surface is sculptured with numerous fine, radiating ribs intersected by concentric growth lines, creating a cancellate pattern. The shell margin is typically crenulated or scalloped, corresponding to the radial ribs. The specimen in the image is uniformly off-white to creamy white.
