Description
The Elegant Conch, scientifically known as *Pleuroploca elegans*, is a medium to large-sized marine gastropod belonging to the Fasciolariidae family. Its shell is distinctly fusiform and elongated, characterized by a tall, conical spire with prominent, often nodulose or axially ribbed whorls. The body whorl is large and tapers gradually into a well-defined, moderately long siphonal canal. A striking feature is its elongated, narrow aperture, which boasts a deep, glossy dark purplish-brown to almost black interior, contrasting sharply with the lighter exterior. These shells are carnivorous, preying on other mollusks, and are found in tropical Indo-Pacific waters.
