Description

A large, robust marine gastropod shell, commonly known as the Papillose Volute. The shell is elongated and somewhat fusiform, with a prominent, rounded protoconch at the apex. Its surface is generally smooth, displaying a mottled pattern of cream to off-white ground color overlaid with irregular reddish-brown to orange-brown blotches and streaks. The specimen in the image shows some wear and possibly encrustations, contributing to its varied surface texture and color.
