Description

A large and heavy marine gastropod, commonly known as the Flag Cone. Its shell is broadly conical with a low spire and a straight-sided body whorl. A distinctive feature is its thick, bristly or hairy periostracum, which often obscures the underlying shell pattern. The animal itself is visible, showing a mottled yellow and black siphon.
