Like other members of the genus Puncturella, it possesses a small, slit-like or keyhole-shaped anterior opening (foramen) near the apex, which is characteristic of keyhole limpets, though not clearly visible from the dorsal view in this image.

Description
A small, conical, cap-shaped seashell with prominent radial ribs, held in the palm of a hand. The shell is off-white to grayish-white, with some natural discoloration or sediment in the grooves. The apex is slightly recurved or 'hooded'.
