Description
A small, fan-shaped scallop shell, characterized by its striking reddish-brown to deep red coloration, especially prominent on its numerous, strongly sculptured radial ribs. The ribs are adorned with distinct, somewhat spiny scales or tubercles, giving the shell a rough, textured surface. It features unequal auricles (ears) at the hinge line, typical of the Pectinidae family.
