Description

The New Zealand Keyhole Limpet is a marine gastropod mollusk, characterized by its low conical, oval-shaped shell. A distinctive keyhole-like or trefoil-shaped opening is present at the apex of the shell, which serves for excurrent water flow. The exterior surface is sculptured with prominent radial ribs and finer concentric growth lines, giving it a somewhat cancellate texture. The shell margin is crenulated, reflecting the external ribbing. The interior is smooth and typically white.
