Description
A robust, equivalve, and inequilateral bivalve shell, typically ovate to subquadrate in shape with prominent umbones. The exterior surface is characterized by strong, elevated concentric lamellae (growth lines) and finer radial ribs, which intersect to create a distinctive cancellate or basket-like sculpture, particularly noticeable towards the shell margins. The interior is porcellaneous white.
