Description

A robust, medium-sized marine gastropod shell characterized by its conical to ovate-conical shape and highly sculptured surface. The shell features prominent axial ribs and spiral cords that intersect to form distinct, often pointed, scales or nodules, giving it a 'scaly' appearance. It has a moderately high spire and a relatively wide body whorl. The aperture is ovate, with a thick, often denticulate (toothed) outer lip and a short siphonal canal.
