Description
A large, robust, and heavy marine gastropod shell, commonly known as a volute. The shell exhibits a fusiform (spindle-shaped) outline with a moderately tall spire and a large, inflated body whorl. The surface is generally smooth but may show growth lines and irregular axial markings. The aperture is elongated and relatively narrow, leading to a short siphonal canal.
