Description

A robust, medium-sized marine gastropod shell, characterized by its turbinate to ovate-fusiform shape and heavily sculptured surface. The shell exhibits prominent axial ribs and spiral cords, often forming blunt nodules or spines, particularly on the shoulder. Its coloration typically features dark brown to black spiral bands or blotches on a lighter, often whitish or tan, background. The aperture is wide and ovate, with a distinctive purplish-brown interior and prominent white denticles (teeth-like structures) on the inner margin of the outer lip. A short siphonal canal is also present.
