Description

Oliva parkinsoni is a species of predatory sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Olividae, the olive shells. The shell is characterized by its smooth, glossy, elongated-cylindrical shape and distinctive color patterns. The living animal is often seen partially covered by its mantle, which can extend over the shell, and possesses a prominent siphon. This specimen is observed on a sandy or rubble substrate adjacent to what appears to be a stony coral.
