Description
A single valve of a marine bivalve mollusc, commonly known as Silky Tapes. The shell is oval to sub-quadrate in shape, with a smooth, somewhat silky surface. It exhibits a cream to off-white background adorned with distinctive brown, often zig-zagging or wavy patterns that radiate from the umbo. Concentric growth lines are visible across the shell surface. This particular specimen has a small, circular hole drilled near the umbo, suggesting it may have been used as an ornament or bead.
