Description

The Tiger Cowrie is a large, heavy, ovate, and highly polished shell. Its dorsal surface is typically cream to light brown, adorned with numerous distinct dark brown to black spots, giving it a 'tiger-like' appearance. The ventral side is usually white or cream, featuring a long, narrow, toothed aperture. In adult specimens, the spire is completely involute and not visible.
