Description
A robust, medium-sized marine gastropod shell, typically turbinate to broadly ovate-conical in shape. It features a heavily sculptured surface with prominent axial ribs and spiral cords that often form strong nodules or blunt spines, particularly on the shoulder. The shell color is variable, commonly dark brown, purplish-brown, or grayish, sometimes exhibiting lighter spiral bands. The aperture is ovate, and the outer lip may have internal denticles. This species is a predator found in intertidal to shallow subtidal rocky and reef habitats across the Indo-Pacific.
