Description

The image displays two specimens of Vokesimurex recurvirostris, a species of predatory sea snail. The shells are fusiform (spindle-shaped) with a moderately high spire and a distinct, recurved siphonal canal. They exhibit prominent, somewhat frilly axial varices (ribs) and spiral cords, giving them a rough texture. The coloration is predominantly grayish-brown to light brown, with darker brown spiral bands or blotches, particularly noticeable on the varices. The aperture of the shell on the right is visible, revealing a smooth, white interior.
