Description

Two specimens of Volutoconus mcmichaeli, commonly known as McMichael's Volute, are displayed. These shells are elongate-ovate and fusiform in shape, characterized by a smooth, glossy surface. The ground color is a pale cream to light orange-brown, adorned with irregular reddish-brown blotches and axial streaks, which sometimes coalesce into faint spiral bands. The spire is moderately tall, and the siphonal canal is distinct.
