Identifying FeaturesStrong, rounded axial ribs (approximately 8-10 per whorl) crossed by finer spiral cords, creating a somewhat nodulose or cancellate sculpture. A distinct shoulder is present on the whorls. The aperture is ovate with a smooth columellar lip and a thickened outer lip that shows internal lirae (ridges). The siphonal canal is short and slightly recurved. The protoconch is small and pointed.
Description
A small, fusiform marine gastropod shell, characterized by its yellowish-brown coloration, prominent axial ribs, and spiral cords. The aperture is ovate with a short siphonal canal. This specimen, USNM 681538, measures approximately 13-14mm in length.
