Description

A large, highly glossy cowry shell, ovate and somewhat humped in shape. The dorsal surface is predominantly dark brown to black with irregular, mottled patterns over a lighter, creamy or light brown background. The margins are often lighter and calloused. The shell exhibits the characteristic narrow aperture of cowries, with distinct terminal beaks.
