Description

The Algarve Volute is a medium-sized to large marine gastropod shell, characterized by its smooth, thick, and ovate to pear-shaped form. It features a very large, inflated body whorl and a short, often sunken spire. The aperture is wide and elongated. The shell typically displays a uniform warm coloration, ranging from orange-brown to peach or salmon pink, with a paler, often pinkish-white interior. It is found on sandy or muddy bottoms in the Eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea.
