Description
The Goat Eye Limpet is a common marine gastropod mollusc characterized by its conical, somewhat depressed shell. It features a distinctive stellate or scalloped margin, formed by strong radiating ribs that extend from the apex to the edge. The shell's surface exhibits variable coloration, typically ranging from greenish-brown to dark brown, often adorned with lighter, sometimes iridescent (green, blue, or silver) radiating streaks. The apex can sometimes show reddish-brown hues. This limpet is a herbivorous grazer, feeding on microalgae and diatoms from rocky surfaces.
