Description
A robust, ovate to subcircular bivalve shell, moderately inflated and equivalve. It is characterized by prominent, regularly spaced concentric lamellae (ribs) that are intersected by finer radial striae, creating a distinct cancellate or reticulate sculpture. The shell displays a striking color pattern of reddish-brown to purplish-brown concentric bands, often with lighter cream or yellowish areas, particularly towards the umbo. The specimen is observed partially buried in a sandy/muddy marine substrate, indicative of its benthic habitat.
