Identifying FeaturesStrong, numerous, and often lamellar concentric ribs, which can be somewhat imbricate (overlapping) towards the margins. Finer radial striae are also present. The distinctive zigzag or blotchy brown patterns on a lighter background are characteristic. The hinge plate is robust with three cardinal teeth in each valve.
