Description
Cyclinella subquadrata is a species of marine bivalve mollusk, commonly known as the subquadrate cyclinella or a type of Venus clam. It belongs to the family Veneridae. The shell is typically subquadrate to suborbicular in shape, moderately inflated, and features a smooth or finely concentrically sculptured exterior. The interior is porcelaneous and often exhibits distinct growth lines. This species is a filter feeder, playing a role in marine ecosystems by consuming plankton and organic detritus.
